Trick or TINYhouse Treats Tour

Calling all tiny ghosts and goblins, witches and wizards! You are invited to a trick or TINY treats tour.

Parents, come see if a Movable Tiny House is is something you'd like to add to your backyard. It's a fraction of the cost and a quicker development process than traditional ADU construction. Because this type of housing is legal and permitted, it can be rented out to help pay your mortgage or provide extra space for family at a much more affordable cost than traditional ADU construction.

First Ever Tiny Houses Build Day

Students from Five High Schools Build Tiny Homes

What: The Warrior Village Project, San Diego County Office of Education, and WorkforceConnect are sponsoring the inaugural Tiny Houses Build Day, at host Associated General Contractors Apprenticeship & Training facility.

Students from five San Diego County high schools – San Marcos, San Pasqual (Escondido), Rancho Buena Vista (Vista), Poway, and La Jolla – will work with industry professionals to construct six moveable tiny houses.

When: Wednesday, September 18, 2024, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm / Speaker

Speaker Sessions: A panel of speakers will describe how high schools can start their own home building programs, as well as the significant benefits for the community to provide affordable, permanent housing solutions to homeless, veterans, and underserved communities.
A panel of speakers include;

Tiny House, Inc. on the curriculum program schools are using to build tiny houses.
Poway High School’s experience building tiny houses.
Tiny Home Central on installing moveable tiny houses in the community as legal dwellings, including the zoning and permitting process.
Paid career opportunities through the AGC Apprenticeship Program.
The Warrior Village Project on its mission to offer houses to nonprofits that can deploy them to house the homeless, particularly veterans, while training the next generation of home builders.
