Our history
In 2017, the founder of Tiny Home Central, Ellen Stone, partnered with the San Diego County Housing Council and the San Diego Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) to host Alternative Housing Solutions. This two and a half day demonstration event offered community members, key decision-makers, and potential clients an in-person, life-size, and hands on experience to learn about these smaller structures. The event accomplished our goals: to encourage dialogue, inspire innovation, and expand the perception of of what a healthy home environment can be. What we didn't know at the time? This would lead to our regions first legal pathway for tiny homes.
